John Hancock Now Offering Function Health Membership for Vitality PLUS Members

John Hancock is now offering eligible John Hancock Vitality PLUS members special pricing and access to a one-year Function Health membership that includes 100+ lab tests and insights around heart health, hormones, metabolic health, thyroid, nutrients, stress and more.

This is the latest advancement in their commitment to providing your clients with prevention and detection tools that empower them to live a healthy lifestyle. Eligible customers received an email with information about this new benefit on January 23, 2025.

  • What is Function Health?

    • Function is an innovative platform including 100+ lab tests every year — spanning heart, hormones, thyroid, metabolic, stress, and more. With 5x more tests than the average physical and twice-yearly testing, your clients can monitor early indicators of numerous diseases and pinpoint areas for improvement. They’ll receive detailed insights from board-certified doctors along with a third-party clinician summary of their results each time they test. Function provides an evolving health strategy tailored to your clients' biology, giving them a simple way to manage lifelong health.

  • What are the John Hancock eligibility requirements?

    • All registered John Hancock Vitality PLUS members who are 18 years of age or older and have completed the Vitality Health Review in their current year. Access to the one-year special pricing will not be available to John Hancock Vitality members with policies issued in Guam, New Mexico, New York, Puerto Rico or Vermont.

  • Where is Function Health available?

    • Function is available across the continental U.S. and requires members to have an active U.S. address and phone number. Lab visits are available at any of Quest Diagnostics 2,000+ locations across 48 states. At this time, lab visits through Function Health are not available in Rhode Island, Hawaii or Puerto Rico. In New York and New Jersey, Quest Diagnostics requires an additional estimated $500 annual lab test charge payable directly to the laboratory at time of service.

  • Will John Hancock receive my clients’ test results?

    • No. For privacy reasons, neither John Hancock nor Vitality will know which John Hancock Vitality members have taken the lab tests. John Hancock and Vitality will not receive individual results from Function Health. Your clients’ results will have no impact on their current life insurance coverage.

  • My client already has a Function membership. Can they still access this special pricing?

    • If your client is already a Function Health member, they can contact membership@functionhealth.com to have John Hancock special pricing applied to any subsequent year's membership.

  • Will my clients earn Vitality Points for getting the lab tests done?

Vitality members will not earn Vitality Points automatically for signing up for a Function membership. However, they may choose to submit their cholesterol and glucose results for their annual Vitality Check.
