MassMutual Announces New Fluidless Underwriting Program

Use MassMutual's new Exam Substitute Program for quicker, easier offers

MassMutual is excited to announce the launch of a new Exam Substitute Program (ESP). This program will allow qualified applicants to bypass the paramedical exam process by using existing information from their personal medical records.  

Leveraging a recent physician visit to obtain coverage is a convenient proposition and we are excited to help you place business with this program. It is important to note that this program does not replace or conflict with our accelerated underwriting program.  

The criteria for candidates is:

  • Insurance ages 30-60.

  • Individual whole life products only (all riders available).

  • Policy amounts between $3,000,001 and $20,000,000.

  • Risk classes of Standard or better.

  • Medical requirements:

    • $3,000,001 to $10 million: An APS to include a complete physical exam with vitals and labs (including lipid and comprehensive 
      metabolic panels) within 12 months.

    • $10,000,001 to $20 million: An APS to include an executive physical within 12 months.

    • For ages 50-60, normal cardiac testing within the previous 12 months is required (e.g. resting ECG, CTA, NT-proBNP, calcium score, etc.).

  • Applicants with any history of tobacco use within the past five years must
    go through the traditional paramedical exam process (unless applying for tobacco rates).

  • Available Part 2s include the Tele-CMI or a MassMutual Non-Medical
    Part 2.

  • Clients applying for concurrent DI coverage do not qualify.

  • All other age/amount requirements still apply
